Roadking Chassis VicDrift Championship – Round 2 – Calder Park Raceway
Welcome to ZeroClearance!
We’re back again with another instalment of VicDrifts Drift Championship. With round one only a few weeks ago. We had the chance once again to go trackside to shoot all the action up close while it unfolded in front of our eyes. With most of the drivers that competed in round 1, returning for a second opportunity we saw some new drivers entering the competition. We also had the pleasure of shooting with our friend at Exit Velocity, with their photos, also part of our coverage below. Be sure to the check them out @ https://www.facebook.com/ExitVelocity.
Like the normal drift day, we arrived at Calder park Raceway bright and early at 8am, greeted by our friend Jamaine at Exit Velocity, we headed out onto the track and set up to take photos for the first half of the day. Most of the morning consisted of practice for the drivers to get used to the track, which was the first time anyone had ever seen this type of layout at a VicDrift competition. The layout took a bit of getting used to by the drivers, with a lot of spin outs and sloppy driving at first, but all soon got the hang of it!
After lunch, came majority of the action we all wanted to see, with all the battles starting with the top 32 and moving down accordingly. There was a lot of close battles and a few hiccups along the way, with one of the major ones involving two drivers from the top 8. We don’t encourage unsportsmanlike behaviour and we support VicDrift in full with the way they choose to handle such situations.
The Championship Ladder is below, alongside the ZC Coverage
Enjoy!
