“Attack of the Esses” – VicDrift Practice Day – April 2014
Welcome to ZeroClearance!
We’re back again bringing you coverage of the Victorian Drift Club’s practice days at Winton Raceway. As many of you may have already seen, we’ve already posted two huge Facebook albums full of action shots from the day. With that being said, if anyone wants to request edits or high res copies of any images you see on there, shoot us a message on our Facebook (by far the easiest way to contact us) and we’ll help you out as much as we can.
The Practice day! Was a great success in my eyes, with the weather in the days leading up just absolutely shocking, it was amazing just to wake up and drive to Winton and see clear blue skies with the warming sun over our heads, for what was for us a huge day. There was definitely some attendees that we had never seen before, and a lot that we had, so it was a good opportunity to see how far the track and the drivers had come. The first place ZC lingered was the BP and the “Esses”, exercising some new equipment, photo and video a like, so it was good to be able to use all this new equipment to our advantage to bring more improved coverage of all the events that we attend. Proceeding that, we tried to move around as much as we could on the little sleep that we have all managed to get, but, we pressed onwards and decided to spend the remainder of the day around the back M section until it was time to head back up to the Esses and get the last half hour of the day, which was occupied by a Mini Comp.
There was 7 drivers that entered the Mini Comp, all the battles that took place where fair and close, with a lot of decisions only being made by small margins.
The results of the Comp are as follows:
1st – Scott Massari
2nd – Daniel Summers
3rd – David Washington
4th – Brent Baker
Equal 5th – Trav Eva
– Andrew Woolfe
– Daniel brown
I hope everyone who attended the day had a good time and we’ll see you at the next one!
Adam.
